Autumn is a marvelous time to photograph nature. The light tends to be very good, the sun is less harsh than in summer or winter, but most of all the colours! I plan to be out and about in the woods capturing the Autumn, with an eye towards making another book.
Officially, Autumn starts on Sunday September 22nd this year, although meteorologists and some others date it from 1st September. It certainly feels like Autumn, with cold winds and morning dew, and it is starting to look like it too.
Woohoo!
Cheers, Tom.
love the picture it is so hot here. Cant wait for the colors to start Hugs
I’m sure it will be your way soon!
Lovely pic Tom. I too love the colours of Autumn.xxxx
Hi Dina. It’s a toss-up between Autumn and Spring, really!

Thanks Bill.
With the first serious autumn storm on the way, I’d say ya! its autumn!
Yup, house is getting battered this morning!
I have always followed this blog Tom, but have never had an email notification of new posts….xxxx
Hi Tom,
Its my daughters 30th Birthday on the 22nd September, I will let her know Autumn is about to start. Bess can’t wait for the conkers to fall :)
Ooh, happy birthday ti her for tomorrow!
Wow. Don’t call me late for dinner, but does the old “better late than never” hold here? My stupid gmail shelving all bcuk posts from my varied few subscriptions to spam I don’t know how long ago, I missed your adieu until thinking to check your old page there just now. This is too lovely, as is your wont. Awesome! I suppose it is all underfoot by now? September was too vividly gorgeous, seeming verily like Autumn ere the scheduled 22nd. Now October is on its way out and our Maples are still green, happily. Thanks again for sharing. Now to see whether I can subscribe to this….
ttfn,
Jenny

Hi Tom,
I’ve been meaning to have a look at your new site for ages. So here I am finally. Well done on finishing your MA and now you can concentrate on turning your studies into a career. I love the photo of the leaves and the lighting with the dark leaves at the back and the leaves in the foreground lit up.
Looking forward to seeing more photos of Dan on his walks or running in the surf.
All the best xxx
Hi Keggy, nice to see you again. I have been so busy recently that I haven’t had any time to do much with this blog yet. Hopefully soon!
Tom.
